THE VISIONOur goal was to introduce a new format and greater affordability to one of Canada’s wealthiest communities while providing a sound and stable investment for an underserved segment of the of Oakville market. We needed to create a market for new-build condos in the downtown where it previously didn’t exist, and had to work closely with community groups and immediate neighbours to ensure the development was well received.
THE CHALLENGESaying “architecture, amenities and affordable” in the same breath to a community that’s never heard those three words said together. We had to sell units in volume in order to finance a large underground parking structure that services both buildings. We also had to ensure the building was beautiful and fit into a neighbourhood of single-family detached homes and towns.
THE RESULTMint is New Horizon’s largest offering to the market to date—and the market quickly told us what it thought. In a community where it can take many months to sell even half of a condo’s units, more than 70 per cent of Mint’s units were sold in the first 8 hours.
